George & Willy has introduced a wall-mounted aluminum café table with a removable bracket, allowing it to lift away from the wall for flexible use. This innovation aims to optimize space in hospitals and hospitality venues. The system’s confirmed features include tool-free detachment and adjustable heights, but its broader application remains in early development stages.
George & Willy has unveiled a wall-mounted aluminum café table with a removable bracket designed to redefine space flexibility in hospitals and hospitality environments. The system allows the table to be fully detached from the wall without tools, enabling rapid reconfiguration of seating and clearing floor space. This development responds to the increasing demand for adaptable furniture in settings where space efficiency and hygiene are priorities.
The system features a precision-engineered aluminum structure fixed directly to the wall, with a reversible mounting pole that offers two height options—higher for benches or raised seating, and lower for traditional café-style arrangements. The tabletop is available in 40 cm and 60 cm diameters, accommodating various service formats from quick coffee breaks to longer meals.
The Removable Table Bracket allows the entire tabletop to be detached from a permanent wall receiver without tools, making it easy to store or remove when not in use. The components are finished in black and white, suitable for a range of interior and exterior settings, emphasizing minimalism and durability. The design was created by George & Willy’s Brandon Aitken and Will McCallum, and the project was submitted through designboom’s DIY platform.
Innovative Space Optimization for Healthcare and Hospitality
This system demonstrates a significant shift in how furniture can adapt to dynamic environments, especially in hospitals where space is often limited. By enabling quick removal and reinstallation, the table supports infection control, ease of cleaning, and flexible seating arrangements. It could influence future furniture design standards, promoting multifunctionality and minimalism in public spaces.

Background on Modular Hospitality Furniture
Traditional café and hospital furniture are typically fixed, limiting the ability to quickly reconfigure spaces. Recent trends emphasize flexibility and hygiene, especially amid evolving health protocols and spatial constraints. George & Willy’s design builds on existing modular concepts but advances them with a fully detachable wall-mounted system, offering a new level of adaptability for hospitality and healthcare sectors.
“The ability to detach and store furniture easily can significantly improve space management and hygiene standards in hospitals.”
